It's about violence. People like this shooter realized what Marty begins to understand, that there is only what he calls a master morality and a slave morality. In reality, it's just about violence. The way of strength is to embrace violence. The way of weakness is to fear violence and think of violence as something evil.

The people who choose the way of weakness externalize the violence that keeps them safe. Which is why they call the state using violence things like defensive wars and police shootings, etc. When criminals use violence, they call it what it is: violence.

When you choose the way of strength, you embrace violence. You know that you can choose to use violence in lots of situations. But if you have no understanding of it, no training, and you are not physically strong either, then you could very well not understand how to use it and when. The slave morality works because it convinces the subjects of the empire of nothing that violence is always evil, so those subjects never use it. If somebody charges into a restaurant to kill them, they just hide under the tables and shit. On the other hand, when some incel realizes this and chooses the way of strength, with no real support behind and no understanding of how to use it, he could very easily do some stupid shit like this.

If you really wanted to use violence to further the cause against colonization by Muslims, it would be better to goad them into attacking westerners first. A kind of trap. Flipowitz had the right idea years ago: organize a Mohammed drawing contest somewhere. Get them pissed enough to attack it. Set up your choke points, wait for them, and ambush them in the act.
