Well we do need to figure out how we are going to manage this whole lack of mfg industry. Why not drag education out to 30 and then you have to work to 70 to get SS.
Wait, haven't we already done this and just not paid for it?

I'd choose neither, because I know nothing is ever "free" and we'd all wind up paying the price somehow.

I don't think it necessarily would cause inflation. Depends on how the money is taxed and from where. It's going to retard some kind of spending somewhere, so the only way to really cause inflation would be to literally print money and hand that out as UBI.

I mean.. objectively.. if you think about it, taxing people or corporations only shifts spending from one category to government spending. To cause inflation you generally have to increase the money supply somehow. But if you taxed one group of people to redistribute the money to another group of people, I doubt it would cause inflation overall.
Where we see overall inflation comes from the government printing more funny money. Where we see inflation on specific goods and services, we usually see banks flooding that market with credit (usury).
In a way.. I wonder if a UBI would fuck with at least the ability of banks to cause inflation through usury, since people can potentially pay off their loans and not use credit for some things (like vehicles).
Where I think it would backfire terribly is that banks would just demand to receive people's checks directly to pay things like student debts (which otherwise are not getting paid, let's be honest), and it therefore would just be yet another bankster plundering of the struggling tax payer. You'd have to make these checks unassignable like service-connected disability. Good luck with that. Banks and cunt baby mammas are super pissed about that law.

Better check those cushions and desk drawers again over at the treasury.
$12,000 x 320,000,000 = $3,840,000,000,000
$12,000 x 320,000,000 = $3,840,000,000,000
