I'm just getting done with work.

Where's my squad fall in on the line and what's our weapons status.
That's what you say?

We used to do "fall in!" at the high port; "as for battle number!"

"Number one rifleman, alpha team!" <takes fire position>

"Number two rifleman, bravo team!" <takes fire position>

"Number one LMG, bravo team!" <takes fire position>

"Number three rifleman, charlie team!" <takes fire position>

"Number four rifleman, charlie team!" <takes fire position>

"Number two LMG, delta team!" <takes fire position>

"2IC, delta team!" <takes fire position>

"Recover!" <all back to high port>

"Prepare for final inspection!"

 I'm tired...……….. you get what you get Sergeant Major.

My POV has been that you can't get a Civil War without a watershed event. I've considered what those might be and there are only a few good choices. One of the best is economic collapse and the government seizing private assets. I was a double dip recession chicken little a few years back, and I know I wasn't alone. I suspect at some point global mercantilism is going to crash.

I can tune into ZeroHedge everyday and read an article about this, but they are pretty panicky. Charles Hughe Smith makes sense to me. We were due a dip in 2015, but as it started the fed monetized debt. We are running out of rope though.

I suspect that if this the US goes down in a crash, it will go global, like in 1929.

Poor little fella. Switch to Recce Platoon fall in. Walk up in the dark, circle, whisper;

Sound off.

Two ready.

Three up.

Four good to go.

Recce we own the night.

<step off in formation>

Speaking of owning the night.

American Patriots are figuring out how to make their own Gen III Night Vision. America has the best gun nuts.

I was at CANSEC in Ottawa, got to try all the new NODs. Amazing.

Mindblowing. Really. Intensification and Imaging Infrared seamless fusion with HUD.

F-35 like technology.

Yeah, utilizing Gen III is fucking amazing. The PVS14 is the shit, but it costs nearly $4k. This guy is shows you how to build one that will do the same for $1k

NOD's are the key to being absolutely silent on the approach.

Because you can place your feet perfectly in the pitch black.

Looking at the wars of the 21st C. we see generally a war of opponents with diverse technology and resource levels. On one side you see Western nations, NATO and Russia with 21st C tech and abundant resources. They are fighting populations with limited mid-late 20th C tech, and very limited resources.

The primitive fighters have really done quite well in these low level wars. They've been inventive and used the limited resources at hand to inflict casualties and be successful in area denial operations.

Looking at these and considering an American Civil War, ostensibly with a segment of the US population against the bulk of the US government I wonder what Americans would be able to do in a similar fight. The average American has access to a great deal of tech and have enormous resources compared to the insurgencies we've seen thus far in the 21st C.

As I've posted above, here we have guys building Gen III night vision. I've seen guys that have figured out how to easily modify AR's with wire to fire full auto, I see guys building suppressors.

It could be really wild.

NOD's, good comms, suppressors as a bonus.

We didn't have suppressors.

In Rifle Company we did reports over the radio on patrol.

In Recce Platoon, no.

In Recce we were radio silent unless contact, otherwise we just submitted a patrol report upon return.
