There is the Declaration of Independence preamble and associated light of individual liberty, and how that makes a people treat you, and then there is the rest.

Decent; concern for their fellow man as the default, no natural enemies.

Forthright; do the right thing when push comes to shove, even when nobody is watching.

Friendly; open palm to any who are decent and forthright and like to have a good time.

Who can touch the Americans when you factor in all three?

Sho ain't Canadians, Canadians are sneering snobby priggish holier than thou Victorian martinets.

Aussies and Kiwis are like that too. 19th century Victorians forever.

The British themselves? Too tribal, only decent and forthright to their own tribe, all of them are each others natural enemies, they are not friendly because you might be with the wrong tribe.

Walk into a bar in America, it's like Cheers, walk into a pub in Britain, it's like jail, watch out.
