I'm linking these discussions and forwarding them to Lockheed, you fuckers should get paid for all your hard work.
For real. I have never in my life seen so many people who know so fucking little about military aviation talk with such certainty about it. It's fucking hilarious. It's already been shared with Air Force vets. Fun times. LOL

When Smitty uses those vacuous Initech acronyms like oobla loops and shit it's fucking hilarious.

If this guy emails me back, I'm probably going to have to fly to Bethesda. Which, I will go to Florida after.

But I don't think I would get much face time with the CEO, prolly five to ten minutes, so I need a pitch which puts Dukenog in front of the HR in Fort Worth, very limited window to make my case.

I don't really have much else to say to her, she's already paying me, we need to employ this Millennial so he doesn't have to live in a van down by the river, pretty sure if we gave him a chance, he would go to war for the F-35, surely we have a place in the company for Dukenog.

Entry level, $20/hr to start, that's $41K a year, should be able to rent a decent apartment for that. Buy a new car too.

In the end, if she just glad hands me and brushes me off, it's still a good excuse to go to Florida, need a break from Snowmageddon up in here.

A10 vs F35
I'll take the battle tested A10. The Warthog has probably destroyed more equipment and killed more people already than the F35 ever will. The Warthog carries 5X as many rounds of 30mm than the F35 carries of 25mm. Huge payload, hard points all over the place, can be used and serviced in austere environments, can loiter around the battlefield for 2 hours. They've been trying to replace the Warthog for 25 years and they can't do it.

It's kinda like the B52 or C130 in that regard. We should learn a lesson and upgrade it for the 21st C like we have those aircraft.

As the Cold War wound down in the late 1980s, it felt like the Warthog's days were numbered. Who needs an ugly Soviet tank-killer if there's no more Soviet Union?

Then came the first Iraq War. As the conflict unfolded, A-10s destroyed more than 900 Iraqi tanks, 2,000 other military vehicles, and 1,200 artillery pieces. Warthogs shot down two Iraqi helicopters with the GAU-8. On the second day of the Persian Gulf War, a pair of Warthogs destroyed 23 tanks over the course of three sorties, using Maverick missiles as well as the cannon. Iraqi troops called the A-10 the "Cross of Death," a reference to its shape and lethality.

The A-10 has seen in action in every major U.S. conflict since and approximately 350 remain in service. It served in the Balkans flying sorties over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and finding a downed F-117 pilot in Kosovo. The planes flew again in Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Afghanistan, flying 32 percent of the combat sorties in both theaters.

From 2006 to late 2013, A-10s flew 19 percent of close air operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's more than the F-15E Strike Eagle or B-1B Lancer. Only the F-16 flew more. As of early 2015, Warthogs had flown 11 percent of USAF sorties against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Also, did you read where the F-35 lands rounds off target and is unsafe to operate around troops?
