I didn't take one, but a sibling took one.
Since we have the same parents I imagine we have similar genetics.

Anyway, here goes:

50.6% British/Irish
33.3% German
8.2% Broadly Northwestern European
2.4% Broadly European
2.1% Scandanavian
-and who even cares about the less than 2% ratings on a test claiming 50% confidence?

If we're having an "ultimate whitey" competition count me in.

You’re exceedingly white. Did you ever see John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd do White Guy Rap? I’m thinking that white.

Haven't seen it but I'll check it out.
It certainly put to rest any rumors my Grandmother started about "We have Choctaw blood way back in the family line".
Nope.
Elizabeth Warren has more native American than me.

It's starting to look like these DNA tests are full of shit.

I played hockey with their brother. Their dad was also a coach of mine.

I'm on the fence about the "full of shit" part.

On one hand, yeah, test results aren't making sense in some cases.
On the other hand, they're cracking decades-old murders with them, so how full of shit are they really?

Matching two DNA samples it not the same problem as figuring out your distant ancestry.

There's still the issue of they can't match the DNA samples of identical twins or triplets (hence the differing ancestry info), but they can match samples from a serial killer and his distant cousin? Not making sense to me.

They are not matching DNA samples here.

They are using clustering algorithms to try to assign your membership to various clusters. It's an information retrieval problem whereas matching DNA in a crime scene is a straight-forward matching algorithm.

Once you get a baseline sample set of DNA where you know people's ancestry, you can start to do this kind of clustering. The problem is not with reading the DNA, but with your baseline dataset that you use to cluster a person's ancestry.
