Rumor is that Israel obtained a pass to integrate their own sensors and has access to the encryption. If true it's probably a bs excuse to sell our tech to China.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 12:54 pmBear in mind tho, only the British have access to the encryption, every other F-35 operator is operating only at America's discretion, you don't actually buy the F-35, you join the American F-35 force, and if you ever leave, the jet gets locked, so you can't take it with you.

No. They don't have the encryption, the Israeli tech is integrated for them, by Lockheed Martin in Texas.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:00 pmRumor is that Israel obtained a pass to integrate their own sensors and has access to the encryption. They ship their kit to LockMart, we build it into the jet for them, they never get the unlock codes.

It's a joint Anglo-American program, the British are the only full partner, that being said, Lockheed Martin provides, if you want a custom model, we will build that for you, but it's still the Anglo-American Panther, you never fully own it, it's more like a lease.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:07 pmI see. Again, 21st century fighter, it's turnkey, vertically integrated, you get everything in the package, we provide the training, the testing, the spiral upgrades, it's all in one, but it's all within the American chain of command at all times, just in case somebody goes rogue.

I'm taking the safe route and waiting for the Department of State to tell me the right answer first.

Things flare up periodically, they're in a constant state of cold war, sometimes it gets a little hotter.
