The F-15 is not a viable replacement for F-16 and F/A-18 and Harrier and F-117, so obvious apples to oranges fallacy is obvious.
You don't know what you are talking about.

The F-15 is the most proven and successful airframe in the history of aviation. It's the greatest fighter that was ever built.

Also, stealth means jackshit. The F-15E could have targeted the F-35A even when I was in the service.

It's all gimmick with LMC. Overpriced junk.

The only allied aircraft that could smoke that F-15X is the F-22.

Bear in mind, all these specious attacks were launched against F-15 back in the 70's

The same people said the same things about F-15

It's too expensive, too complex, it's a Hangar Queen, it relies on missiles which won't work, it's a boondoggle, blah, blah, blah.

That was the liberal media narrative about F-15, back in 1976 or so.

Bullshit. The people who talked shit about the F-15 were well after the 70s when the F-16 came around. We literally had to deal with the same kool aid nonsense you are spouting right now.

Lawn dart is a subpar design for military aviation. Maybe for Marines it makes sense because who the fuck cares. But for the USAF you need a beast to achieve air dominance. F-35 is known as the Liberace of the Skies for a reason.

I GUARANTEE YOU THE F-15X WOULD SMOKE AN F-35A.

That's why all the corrupt politicians and "think tanks" are losing their shit right now.

An F-15X could launch a hypersonic missile from the same fucking range that an F-35A could target the F-15X. No countermeasures are realistically going to save the F-35A from that, but the F-15X ECM system could potentially handle an AIM-120.

I don't find you to be anymore convincing in all caps. Shouting it doesn't make it true. /shrugs

LMFAO

Dude, your F-35A cannot even catch up with an F-15X. It can't fly as fast. It hits bingo fuel before the F-15X is even half-empty. F-15X can target your bullshit "stealth" with a targeting pod. I mean.. shit.. we could do that even in the 90s. Marketing gimmick is gimmicky.

Stealth is the only thing the F-35A has going for it, since it could potentially penetrate airspace that is defended by the best Russian air defense systems, but nobody is going to use them for that because they have jackshit for range. The F-35A cannot even reach that airspace without significant air refuelling, and the Russians are going to shoot down all the fucking refuellers they see with drones. For that kind of sortie you need an F-22.

Everything you could conceivably use an F-35 to do is better done by the F-15X, and at far less cost too.

If anything, as per the OP, the fact that a MiG-21 shot down an F-16 in a dogfight, because the MiG-21 had an off boresight thrust vectoring missile, simply confirms to me that the F-15 is obsolete, because it can be seen by a missile which it cannot escape, even if the launch platform is 1950's vintage.

Have the Pakis launched a dud warhead yet? I'd like to see the debate shift to who has the most awesome 1960s nuclear arsenal available.

LAUGH MY FUCKING ASS OFF

The only thing it confirms is that lawn dart designs are fucking horrible.

That's exactly what we are talking about. An F-15E could probably shoot down an F-35 if you put a newer targeting pod on the fucking thing. An F-16 getting shot down by some old school Russian fighter is exactly like an F-15 being able to smoke your Shamwow airplane.

Actually, Pakistan has basically reverse engineered the Tomahawk cruise missile, and then put a thermonuclear bomb on it, so Pakistan is not actually relying on an old and busted SCUD or something like that.

The North Koreans have the SCUD model, Pakistan however has access to much newer technology.
