Having never flown a plane I can't be the judge of what is best but it seems like the f-35 helmets are going full anime interface short of neural jacks. As a fan of cyber punk, I think we need to keep pursuing this avenue of technology. We just need to convince Trump that Dallas is stealing all the f-35 money and giving it to basketball Americans.

I'm not trying to justify anything, I just work in the real world of defense acquisition rather than the fantasy world of the internet where F-35 is compared to fantastically perfect and inexpensive alternatives which don't actually exist. /shrugs

Point being, if you can be seen you can be shot down, doesn't matter what you are flying, which is why both Raptor and Panther use stealth and sensors to avoid a dogfight and just hit and run instead.

Come and go without being seen, while seeing whose who in the zoo, is the only way to avoid getting shot down these days, with the kinds of missiles which are in play, if they see you they can shoot you down.

Again, just happened in Pakistan when an ancient MiG-21 shot down an F-16, with a state o' the art missile.
