Classic lurcher is a collie cross greyhound. Fast enough to catch hares. The guy I'm working with has one.
You have to crack the deer over the head a few times with a cosh but muntjac are only 18" tall at the shoulder so easy enough to carry home on foot.
Muntjac and Chinese water deer are classified as pests so you can hunt them all year round.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Had to google Muntjac. You have 2 invasive non-native deer? Huh. Guess it's not that much different than Nutria or other crap we have here. Even wild boar is invasive non-native here.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:20 pm Classic lurcher is a collie cross greyhound. Fast enough to catch hares. The guy I'm working with has one.

Yeah, getting rid of feedlot cattle would raise the price and reduce the consumption. Since we only eat kosher meat at home that keeps our beef consumption down, Burger meat starts at $5/lb, brisket is like $12! We could afford it, but it just seems stupid.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Hey Monte, I've got a few friends I can call and we'll take care of that Muntjac problem for you faster than you can burn a fag. Just need baggage clearance at the airport.brewster wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 2:26 pmHad to google Muntjac. You have 2 invasive non-native deer? Huh. Was not aware of this :Fife wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:05 pm Speaking of wheat, I remember now which city it was that ruined American agriculture (and the rest of the country) through the miracle of central planning forever.

Sounds like we had our own idiotic “Leap Forward” program. The Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 limited the area that farmers could devote to wheat production. Its stated purpose was to stabilize the price of wheat in the national market by controlling the amount of wheat produced. It was motivated by a belief by Congress that great international fluctuations in the supply and the demand for wheat were leading to wide swings in the price of wheat, which were deemed to be harmful to the US agricultural economy.

The muntjac and Chinese water deer are not herd animals. They are solitary and only come together to mate. They are also small enough to hide in long grass and undergrowth.
You have to put bait down and wait up a tree or a ladder. Can take days to make a single kill.
Cars kill more than hunters.
A fast lurcher is the best way to get them but hunting with packs of dogs is illegal so you can only use one.
