It's not like anyone was about to trade Nashville a 1C though, no one trades away 1Cs these days, unless you're Carolina, lulz.

Poile has tried to do it for decades, and still no biters. Beefing up the wingers was his next best option, and the only realistic one.

I think the Preds at least kept up with the Jets in the arms race, basically a stalemate.

Stone is a big game breaker for Vegas tho, Mats Sundin was his favorite player growing up, and that's what he basically is, a Canadian Sundin.

They did keep up with the Jets, but the Jets are also stacked at winger, plus they have Schiefele, and it's a centers league.

Hellebuyck also seems to be the more reliable playoff goaltender than Rinne.

Gotta favor the Jets again this year, in that essentially inevitable second round playoff matchup.

I place my bets with the Hockey Gods, it's all about who gets hot at the right time, and then gets the bounces.

Indeed, I happen to think that it more likely that the hockey gods will favor Schiefele and Hellebuyck over Johansen and Rinne, but they are fickle, so you never know.

The problem that both the Jets and Preds have to watch out for, is that even if they win the series, that they don't get so worn down in the process, that they blow it in the conference finals.

The Hockey Gods work in mysterious ways, for all you know, the Avs will win the Cup.

Stranger things have happened.

I mean they Avs could win, but I don't think the hockey gods like Varlamov or Grubauer enough for us to even get out of the first round, let alone keep it going all the way to the finals. Stranger things have happened indeed, but not many, if the hockey gods will it though, I certainly won't complain.

Got to make the playoffs first though. That would certainly be one way of saving Jared Bednar's job, hehe.
