Spain is very anti-fascist on the books. I know culturally there are still lots of full blown commies running around so I'm sure there are still fascists as well. I heard some shit like they want to dig up Franco's grave and they will lock you up quick if you take a picture next to it doing a Roman salute.

My father went to Spain in the 1960's, he said he had little bit of trouble with the Spanish cops because he was a beatnik, but not much.

Meanwhile in the UK he had constant trouble from the coppers, so he said England seemed more fascist to him.

The UK has been a police state since Edward VIII was deposed. He had popular support. Ever since that and WWII it's been a never ending restriction of the populace. They have more CC cameras than China per capita.
