it's 9am in Europe time on a Sunday. what happens?
Everyone knows you don't work on Sundays, let alone Saturdays and usually fridays. Wtf are you guys doing on a Sunday morning? What is life like in Europe at 9am when you aren't at work? Are you biking around and sipping lattes over the latest Ta-Nehisi Coates article or are you in church? What happens when all the tourists are away and you have a three day weekend? I want to know.

This is how I imagine it:
Get up from a nice uninterrupted sleep because everyone is too polite to be noisy to their neighbors after hours.
A little bit of a hangover from the nice couple of beers you had but not really because also had dinner with family or friends.
Room is not too big but it's ok because it's old and built to withstand the cold weather. It's comfy and there are a few nice knickknacks around to make it feel like home.
The government sponsored news station is saying everything is perfectly fine. It's another perfect weekend. Here is the news.
Decide to take the trolly to the local coffee shop instead of riding the bike because it's a nice day to walk around in public and there is no need to be rude to other pedestrians as there is no hurry.
The coffee shop is cozy and smells like books. All the faces are familiar and everyone is furtively busy reading the local news or quietly chatting amongst themselves.
Que up behind the bar and as there is only one other person waiting there is no need to enforce que procedures.
Leave a nice 50% tip because Europeans always tip for good service. Enjoy the latest issue of Ta-Nehisi Coates' "incidence of slavery and fuck wipipo," for the rest of the morning before breaking for a hearty brunch across the street at the local food truck.
Leave another 75% tip because good service always deserves a good tip.
Walk home at a nice leisurely pace because no one is there to harass anyone for money, everyone is just tipping each other all the time.
Listen to the birds singing because it's not drowned out by the sound of city noises even though it's the heart of the city.
Greet your neighbors cat.
Greet your neighbors dog.
Greet your neighbors hamster.
Open the door (it's never locked)
Feed your gold fish
Read another Ta-Nehisi Coates article about slavery and white Europeans
Enjoy a nice refreshing slap of water on your face (you don't ever shower)
Slip into bed at 3 pm and enjoy the rest of the day off until Tuesday

Yes, nuke. All Europeans sip lattes while driving on bicycles. Don't even wear helmets while doing it. We only read obscure American progressive authors to feel superior to lower class Europeans, however. We then go to church to make fun of the funny looking priests and piss in the baptist water-thingy, whose translation I've read too much Tahesi Coats to look up in a dictionary. And we totally don't work on Fridays, and you know why....TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 12:47 amEveryone knows you don't work on Sundays, let alone Saturdays and usually fridays. Because of the Friday prayer, of course. On Fridays all Europeans turn Muslim for a day, in a show of white guilt to the Muslims - who are all brown and oppressed. In turn they and their descendents promise to remain poor, criminal and generally lower class. A wonderful social contract, really. When it's winter, we cleanse our land with pig's blood during the three day weekends to purge the evil foreigner spirits. That's a popular family event. Family time is most important time of all and that's what that whole three-day weekend is for. Because hospitals, police stations, fire stations, grocery shopping, military is all closed during the three-day weekend, we've grown to rely on the family, and families have had to learn how to work together for protection and everything else. Monday to Thursday, though.... we're civilized. Everyone's used up their mobile phone's batteries by Friday, and it's illegal to film anything in Europia from Friday to Sunday, so that's why you never heard of these things before.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

In France, week 14 of the Yellow Vest Protests are marked by the Euro Stasi going after the protesters by using hate speech laws.
Paris authorities have opened an investigation into anti-Semitic remarks hurled at a noted philosopher during a yellow vest protest in the capital.
The incident has helped to raise national concerns about the yellow vest movement’s ascendant radical fringe.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said an investigation was launched into “public insult based on origin, ethnicity, nationality, race or religion”.

It's called ''the rule of law''. You conservatives are supposed to be all in favour of it.C-Mag wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 5:38 amIn France, week 14 of the Yellow Vest Protests are marked by the Euro Stasi going after the protesters by using hate speech laws.

Both the far right and far left have attempted to subvert this movement away from its original aims and towards there own extremist ones.
Your concerns over hate speech laws are not relevant in countries which have the law on their statutes.
Comparing French authorities to the Stasi for trying to quell violent protests and impose the law of the land is disengenuous.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I do have to occasionally work on Sundays. Next Sunday I will be on the second day of feeding a film crew in another true crime movie.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 12:47 amEveryone knows you don't work on Sundays, let alone Saturdays and usually fridays. Whatever I am doing, I always try to listen to the Archers omnibus on a Sunday morning to catch up on any episodes I may have missed during the week. This has been part of my Sunday routine for over 30 years now.
The Archers, for anyone who doesn't know, is the worlds longest continuously running soap opera. It's a radio soap about a rural farming community which has been running since 1950 without a break.
A national institution, it was originally intended to educate the public on agricultural matters and although it still carries out that remit it is now mostly for entertainment purposes.

How is it disingenuous? Hate speech laws are commie tactics so police using those tactics are fair game to be compared to stasi. Your love for authority and the state is balls deep, we know.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 6:28 amIt's called ''the rule of law''. Ever notice the supporters of hate speech laws are completely racist against whites and sexist against men?
They project their bigotry on to others as a coping mechanism for the unbelievable cognitive dissonance the liberal must maintain day in and day out.

That just might be the most ironic thing ever said on the MHF.
