LED Lights are moving up my list pretty rapidly, those things are awesome.

They do last a hell of a lot longer. I’m a fan.

The energy use trade off is about 7:1, much more efficient.

LED lamps are so bright that they make you less safe. You can only see shit in the immediate cone of light beneath the lamp. Everything outside of that cone of light is completely obscured from your vision. In that lamps are generally installed for safety and security (with security the most important issue), they actually accomplish the exact opposite of their purpose.

These lamps are terrible. I would pull every single one of them out of the ground and make the companies that profited off this graft pay every cent it costs to put the old lamps back in the ground.

Then in your home those LED lightbulbs are making many of you sick, and fucking with your circadian rhythms so that you don't sleep well. You are fucking better off not turning the lights on at night within three or four hours of your bedtime.

It's just so fucking stupid. It's what environmentalists do to society when they don't account for all the complex shit that their ideas create. Is it more energy efficient? Check. Subsidize it and force everybody to endure it!
