JD still trying to make an observation an argument so he doesn’t look dumb for yelling “logical fallacy” at an inappropriate time.
I observed you reached conclusions of guilt on NO evidence, and conclusions of innocence where some evidence exists, without really assessing the evidence.
No argument made. No place for a logical fallacy to hide. Just straight observation.
Maybe if you try to creatively deny your error a fourth time it will work out better for you. What’s the definition of insanity again?
Man, you really thought your passive aggressive, pussy argument was safe from debate.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 8:50 am

I'll reiterate as many times as it takes.
A statement is an assertion or observation meant to be taken as facts. They have truth value, in other words, they may be true or false.
An argument at it's simplest is a set of statements or assertions, one of which is the conclusion, the rest being premises.
You made several assertions AKA "statements or observations meant to be taken as fact" And then you said:
That's a conclusion: It's written in a cowardly manner, granted, but it's a conclusion nonetheless. The statement is implying that the reason I'm not taken seriously is because of the earlier assertions. These people, man. They want to be taken seriously and just can't figure out why it ain't happening . . .
Lol You're disguising your conclusion as a statement of fact, but you implied it was factual because of X Y and Z.
Like, bro, you made an argument, you can admit it was stupid, just you being dumb as usual, but you are not safe from debate, however much clown-camo you put on, I see yo ass.

Nope.
Fourth weak-ass attempt at projecting your failures on my black and white words didn’t do it either.
You clearly mad tho.
Fuckin ... coward ass ... passive aggressive ... cowardly ... pussy ... clown ass observation is an ARGUMENT!!!!
Easy, guy. You can’t really expect me to believe you’re this unaccustomed to being wrong, given the vast amount of time you spend in that state.
But don’t take my word for it, here:
Observation:
noun
an act or instance of noticing or perceiving.
Argument
noun
an oral disagreement; verbal opposition; contention; altercation:
They’re not even synonymous. I trust you can locate a thesaurus if you want to check me on that.

Maybe you're so used to averting eye-contact and throwing darts from the shadows direct communication feels like aggression to you?DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:16 pmNope.

Nonetheless, you refuse to concede, so I'll just repeat the essentials:
No, I didn't say observation and argument are the same.
An observation in the sense you're using the word to describe your post is a statement.
An argument is a series of statements, of those most are premises, one is a conclusion.
Your original post is a series of statements with a conclusion. You presented it as though you're a bystander merely observing things, but there was an implicit argument contained within. You got caught, you know it, I know it.

Yes, my reputation for avoiding conflict is well known in these parts. You’re astuteness is rivaled only by your capacity to reason.
Look, if you want to believe you annihilated my observation by crying “logical fallacy”, go for it. If you want to believe an observation is an argument, go for it. If you want to believe using the word “implied” some how magically transforms a direct observation (which cannot be implied, but whatever) into an argument, then go for it.
I can’t imagine anyone else cares, or would agree with your assessment.
/shrug

You keep muddying the waters. I could press the point, but I'll leave the school-yard bully act to you and your friends.

I'm surprised anyone still tries. Thick as a brick.

Someone asserts that a U.S politician committed treason, I simply and politely asked for proof. Instead I received insult, ankle biting and fallacy. Is this no longer a debate forum? Have standards fallen so low?

It's not a unique position.

I don't think even Bernie himself would dispute it openly. He would try to dodge the question.
Calling someone who is an open Communist/Socialist a traitor is just par for the course in a democratic western country. It's been so for >100 years.
