I wouldn't say SSRI's are terrible...
At best they buy some time.
I'm not opposed to a band aid if you understand it is a band aid and not a cure.

But don't put a bandaid on bullying.
Kids know you are avoiding the problem.
Papering over their humiliation with a feel good pill.
Address the bullying. Help your kid figure out how to stand up for himself if the situation will allow it.
Make alliances, don't fight solo when you are outnumbered, don't follow them onto their turf where they can fight dirty... etc.
If the bullying is unrelenting, the child is outnumbered and the bullies are unaccountable and the school unable to reign it in...
Then pull your kid out... this is not a suitable learning environment.
Do not sacrifice your child to the wolves out of helplessness.

Also teasing is not bullying.
Teasing can be good natured and harmless.
Bullying is the pursuit of humiliation for it's own sake...

I had a very satisfying troll of a transgender woman. Played it perfectly. Got her to admit she had a Y-chromosome, and that she had experienced the Male Dominance Hierarchy, and knew where her place was within it. Then I said she had the superpower (testosterone) and was exhibiting it in her competitiveness at debating me. Also, I was able to get her to admit strong ambition, and a compulsion to help the weak physically defend themselves; obvious signs of testosterone. She eventually had to withdraw because her every post confirmed my diagnosis.

Where this fits in here is that competing within the Male Dominance Hierarchy: bullying, aggression & hazing; is one of the two social triggers of testosterone production. Combine that with the suppression of the other trigger, Marxist resistance against achievement and accomplishment, and you end up with 2 generations of SoyBoys. Transgender over to female is now their preferred method of avoiding the Male Dominance Hierarchy Right-Of-Passage.

My solution for bullying: shut down the government schools.
