The average household debt is almost $150K; they sure as hell aren’t getting much.
150? Big deal. I have benched 250 pounds easily back when I lifted. I could get that up for 5 reps. Speaker told me he only benches 90 pounds and even then he has to have a spotter.

In 2019 the user known as Fife founded a new kingdom, Roadless Rock-grubber land. Unfortunately there was no gold ore within its boundaries, so it collapsed into insolvency the next day.

Money just needs to be based on a valuable commodity. It doesn't even have to be gold. Whiskey worked fine in these hills until that grifter managed to impose a whiskey tax that nobody could pay because there wasn't any gold or silver.

You don’t post for anyone?

... makes your motivation a mystery of the first order.

LOL, speaking of programming.

If my motivation is a mystery, then I'm satisfied.

Dude, snap out of it! Money doesn’t have to be based on anything. To think that it does is a failure of comprehension. Here you are, getting insight from a master, yet it doesn’t sink in.

Earth rocks are static. Human productivity dynamic. Representing one with the other is difficult. Fiat currency solves some of those issues.

I eat Mises for breakfast. Like I told Speaker, you ignore a once-in-a-lifetime insight because of your own programming.

People wouldn’t work at all if they didn’t have to. (Think equatorial nations.) Without additional motivation, they wouldn’t work past life’s necessities. The primal motivation for men is fucking. High status leads to fucking the hottest babes, so men work to increase their status. Imaginary money is an ideal way of providing status. The money doesn’t have to be based on anything; as long as there’s more production than consumption, fucking will make the wheels go round.

How's that working out for Venezuela?
