A pretty poorly thought through email sent out by a professor to students.
"Keep in mind you may be penalized for speaking your native language to one another in public spaces"?
Freedom of speech presumably applies to freedom to speak whatever language you choose to with one another, doesn't it...
Now the furor and the consequences to this professor are also out of proportion... but she seems to have made a bad choice when sending the email out to her student body.
Maybe a simple "keep it down, you are speaking very loudly" would have sufficed...

I don't shed any tears for the academic elites falling prey to their own poison.
Just noting that the suggestion that people in America speak English is a career death sentence for anyone who hasn't got the memo.

Notice though, when someone's career is killed over a poor decision like how to word an email - the immediate response is "Well, they should've known better". But when a black man makes some equally poor decisions when interacting with police . . .

We need a thread dedicated to all the lefty hypocrisy. If those kids were speaking (in any language) about how much they liked Trump, then it would be called hate speech and they would be facing expulsion. There is only free speech for what the left deems allowable.

The big mistake is how so many engaged with their rationalization for the threats of violence because they allegedly said "build the wall". It was a lie, but instead of trying to prove it was a lie (which never matters to the liars on the left who don't even believe in truth anyway), we all should have pointed out it shouldn't matter. Build the wall is a political slogan of the sitting president. If wearing his hat and repeating the slogan is justification for physical violence, then we need to dispense with the bullshit and start killing democrats. The civil war is already here if that is true.

My advice: call their bluff. If saying "build the wall" is justification for their attacking people, just shout "build the wall" and tell them it's time to start fighting. I am sick of this shit. Just call them out. They are such fucking cowards anyway.
