All of us are complicit in this shit. I don't know a single person who likes wal mart, but we all end up shopping there at some point, out of convenience, or for the price.

I found an old electric blanket in our garage that I used last winter. It was made in America and is from the 1970's. Still works perfectly. I have no idea what it cost, but I do know that I cycle through Chinese products very quickly. They do not hold up, and when they break, we just go back to Wally World to replace them. My dad has noticed this trend too. Manufacturing is no longer "cool" or respectable in America, but we used to build some worthwhile stuff, even at the lower end of consumer products. This sort of throw away culture we have also contributes to this.

According to the UDN news website, a 33-year-old man surnamed Yang was fined NT$60,000 ($1,952; £1,522) this week, for violating the Taiwan Animal Protection Act, after he posted a Scottish fold cat in a sealed cardboard box to a local animal shelter in Banciao District.
A fine?
They should have boxed that fucker up and posted him straight to the nearest prison for some hard labour.

Well, he didn't post the poor cat to his nearest take away, so there is that.
He did try to heal its mobility problems with traditional herbal medicines and acupuncture though.

Side note, never buy a Scottish Fold Cat.
What makes their ears fold forwards is a genetic mutation which leads to other painful health problems similar to arthritis and early death. The ''breed' should be banned.
No one should be allowed to breed an animal which will live a short and painful life just because it looks ''cute''.

English bulldogs should be discouraged too. You guys might as well import some American bulldogs and start over.

I don't like any of the breeds which have been developed to have short snouts. They all have trouble breathing and snore like a wounded warthog.
Dog shows in the UK have been moving away from awarding points for characteristics which harm them so breeders have stopped selecting for them.
As a result, snouts have been getting back to more healthy lengths.

China has blocked over 10m flights/train rides, for ‘low social score’. Now introduces ‘debt shaming’ and encourages ratting on people that look like they could pay.

Full-scale dystopia.
