My instincts tell me he was likely in the Marine Corps for a very brief time, probably didn't serve out his first enlistment, maybe didn't make it through training phase. I base this on following a lot of Stolen Valor cases and the fact that the folks in Phillips corner aren't providing any evidence to show his claims are legit.

That's what I thought, I had a friend who is military tell me the same thing... but that being said yeah, Twitter has been aflutter as has reddit saying about how his age isn't accurate for being a Vietnam Vet...

In some instances, he is described as being only a few years older than me, and I was around long enough to see Nixon leave office.

I have friends who had bounties on their head during Vietnam... They were part of the 9th Marine Regiment. I'll just leave that there to give you an idea of why they had a bounty on their head.

If this guy is telling the truth, and I highly doubt he is, he may have a good chance of running for VP right next to Fauxahauntus...

Claims to be Marine Corps Rifleman and "Recon Ranger" whatever the Fuck that is..... assuming he meant Marine Recon he probably would have been looking at over 1 year of training
With training, earliest he was likely could have been in Vietnam would be 1972
Last Marine Combat BN left Vietnam in 1971

The EARLIEST Phillips could have been a deployable Recon Marine was 1977. There is absolutely no fucking way that this filthy, lying Shitbird was eating bugs in-country during the war. For him to represent himself as a Reconnaissance Marine during the Vietnam War is Stolen Valor, and his shame must be spread.
