Alternative is to break up the medical monopolies...you really don't see the problems of a large central government do you? You honestly believe it's a force of good...completely ignoring history. You can't grasp the concept that providing insurance to everyone allows the medical cabal to charge more? "We'll the govenrment can set the prices for drugs and procedures"...Ok, then you'll be forcing doctors and researchers to work longer hours for less pay...eventually they'll quit...

Is it so hard to understand that there is not enough money to pay for medical care and retirement for all...if you take from the rich - sure, you make it work a little longer...but you'll have to keep taking more and more each generation...and eventually, the rich will quit working when it is no longer worth their time and effort....then what?

Socialism is not synonymous with redistribution. Market capitalism is redistribution too -- to the wealthy. Socialism refers to collectivization of capital goods in some fashion.

Progressive taxation is a counterbalance to capitalism's tendency to accumulate all the wealth.
