i think the implication is that if hillary had won, her and her russian lobbyist campaign manager wouldn't face the same daily accusations of foreign influence from the revolving door media/intelligence apparatus. i definitely dont think stephen colbert would have called hillary putin's cockholster either

and im not so sure that you can say he's changing subjects, the same people that investigated hillary were investigating trump, so when discussing the faults of the fbi, hillary and trump both fall under that subject

also i would be much more willing to accept that the fbi was doing its job by investigating potential leads (as they should) if they hadn't screwed the pooch on the hillary investigation so blatantly and obviously.

i don't like to bring up the hypothetical 'if she had won' as a basis for an argument so im not trying to hammer that point, but because there is so much overlap between the FBI and the two candidates that it's hard to separate them. luckily we don't have to use hypotheticals, we saw how the FBI and DOJ treated both of them and the bias was clear. to me atleast. im not expecting manafort or flynn to recieve immunity deals, and im fine with that, im not here to protect trump from investigation, i just roll my eyes when james comey makes comments about the integrity of the FBI and the rule of law, as if he has any ground to stand on

That is a whole lot of 'ifs.' Falling back on bias accusations doesn't carry much weight with me. Any time something happens that we don't like, someone else's bias is the spackle for the protection of our own. It is lazy. I should think that a board that is so well versed in the absurdities of SJW logic would be more receptive to that, but, then, again, the splinter in someone else's eye, and all that.

Keep in mind, the special investigation wasn't inaugurated until after Comey was fired, and the firing was one of the things that instigated it. This was something Trump took it upon himself to do, and has nothing to do with Hillary. Since we want to play with counterfactuals, there is reason to believe that the Trump appointed deputy AG wouldn't have bothered appointing a special council to pursue Trump if he hadn't decided to do stupid shit that looked like screwing with legal FBI counterintelligence against Russia. Something else a competent person who was qualified, and not a complete slowpoke, would have known.

Also, keep in mind, that one of the reasons that investigation into Clinton lost steam is a somewhat informal agreement that criminal investigations into the losers of an election are something we don't do in a free and open society.

Even without the full article, the quoted passage points out that none of us know what evidence the FBI already had. It is part of an ongoing investigation.

By whom, and for what? Because we don't usually let people pick the authority investigating them. Hence the initial recusal of Sessions.
