Don't like one religious ideology, convert to another or opt out completely.
I don’t know many Republicans, Democrats, Tories or labors that advocate for murdering people who change parties.

Not a meaningful distinction. Christians, Jews, and Buddhists do not kill their own who convert to another religion. They are still religions.

Lying, great example.
You repeat or make excuses for the lies of you religious and your political leaders.
Same same.

I've made the point often that Universities act as religions for people that don't think they worship. Their confirmation of piety is the degree, the temple is the university hall, they tithe through fees and alumni donations, their religious vestments are team colors and logos, their sports teams are their theocratic army's, and their course of study is their scripture.

You are going jihadi over some simple truth.

I was not attacking you. This is just the truth. You need religion as a human being and you filled that need with your radical secularism. Because you have trouble admitting to yourself this is in fact religious belief and behavior, you confuse it with politics.

Not true. In fact I admitted to Smitty on my very first day on the DCF that environmentalism was a religion to me. This is because all religions are in fact political ideologies.

Possibly, but the popular ones seem to exhibit the same groupthink, confirmation bias and dismissal of contravening evidence that religion does.

Guys . . . religion and political views both fall under the umbrella of "ideology", which is why we see so many similarities.
That whole "Don't discuss politics or religion in polite conversation" can be replaced with "don't discuss ideology in polite conversation".

Belief systems share many similarities, whether they involve a deity and an afterlife or not. They both shape the worldview of their believers, guide/inform their actions, and are used as a prism through which information is assimilated.
