I'll put this here instead of taking the Era of Trump thread off track. There was some discussion in there about Muslims taking over Europe. The map posted in there was interesting, but provided only a current snapshot. I found this document which outlines the progression from 1950 to current by country.

Estimates for the Muslim population increased from 100,000 or 0.2% in 1951, to 2,422,000 in 2008, reaching 4.00% of the total British population.

The average annual growth rate of the Muslim population in the UK between 2004 and 2008 was 6.68%, which is ten times the rate of increase of the total population during the same period.

I wonder what changed in the Middle East during the 20th century, that may have caused this...

Nope. I don't even think they're a domestic terrorist group in the US. It would be like labelling "White Supremacists" a terrorist group, i.e. labelling anyone - no matter how they manifested their white supremacist beliefs, a terrorist. Antifa is not one organization that coordinates all the criminal vandalism, assaults, thefts or killings each person who claims to be an antifa member, after all.
