Hard to tell if this was due to the Trade War or the Tax Cuts...
I'm thinking the tax cuts helped more.... but I haven't heard definitively.

Should be easy to draw a direct connection between trade wars and jobs increasing/returning then ... though no one in history has managed to yet.

I guess tariffs and trade wars are secret job-creating engines that other economies avoid on account of they hate making more jobs.

How strange.

Unilateral trade war strategies benefit the belligerent nation's trade partners and damage the workers and consumers inside the belligerent nation.

Not rocket science.

If we can trick China into going into a trade war with us, while we remain free of politicians' fuckery, we win.

Is that what we are up to?

See, e.g., China fights and we refuse to retaliate:

https://mises.org/wire/6-reasons-why-tr ... -pointless
1. China uses its capital in an inefficient way.

2. Monetary expansion to fund an industry causes overall higher prices and malinvestment.

3. China's overall economy will be less developed, weakening the impact of subsidies to targeted industries.

4. American products get cheaper and gain market share.

5. American industries benefit from the general expansion of all levels of production.

6. Chinese subsidies actually become subsidies to Americans' standard of living.

Corporations are moving back here to avoid the tariffs they know will surely be imposed upon them. Fuck off.
