Ah, the ''only following orders'' defence.
How did that work out last time?
How did that work out last time?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It worked out beautifully I should think. Imagine if no Allied soldiers, no American, British, French, Soviet or Chinese soldiers had followed orders, after all.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:59 pmAh, the ''only following orders'' defence.

As for the judge, the US is probably stuck with him because he might (claim to) know some shit about the Venezuelan government works, who the important people (to bribe) are, which guys might make good new puppet presidents should the US decide to help stage a little coup. Maybe gas prices even go down a few cents.

Stage a coup and install a puppet regime? Surely the land of liberty would never do that.BjornP wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 2:30 pmIt worked out beautifully I should think. Well, it's cheaper than using one's own armies. Maybe a few special forces, or a CIA instructor or two. Soon, everyone will be talking about the "beautiful Venezuelans", who love liberty, and how their governments sticks it to the Commies, but best of all, they'll privatize the oil industry, let US companies bid for the oil fields, reduce cost of establishing businesses in Venezuela. Everybody wins.
Sure does. Smart play is pump him for information useful for a coup over a few months, then chop him up for fertilizer after Venezuela's been regime changed. Just don't make him a citizen first. Not cool to kill a fellow citizen, after all.He has a better asylum case than the thousands of squatamalens storming our border.

I don't think politics works that way anymore. He's more likely to run for Congress than be dealt any punitive measures from our brave and transgendered leaders.

There was me thinking he was ugly for a bloke, as a bird he is a gargoyle.

Re: Venezuela news
If Trump's not in charge of his own government, that's his fault and his responsibility, alone. If everyone around him are the one's taking charge, it means he was just never cut out to be in charge. Advertisement was good, though. Better luck next time. Dunno if I am saying it right, but hasn't he shifted what's called the "Overton window" in US politics? As in changed what's considered politically acceptable to talk about? That should mean you could still get a future candidate with better leadership abilities who can actually deliver.
