I like your thesis but your example narrative is not true. This was Utah, Mittens was never in any real danger of losing, Trump help or not.C-Mag wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 12:01 pmModern Liberals are funny. You need to find yourself some liberals and go talk to them in real life. These are your fellow Americans you're talking bad about, and I feel that most of the people here who "hate hate hate" the other side of the isle, don't have many of the other side in their lives.
These are your fellow Americans, you should have them in your lives, perhaps even on a closer level than work. Take a liberal out for a beer and talk to them. Avoid the crazy ones (just as I do), but yeah, go talk to them. Make friends.
I've done that for years buddy. Modern Lefties turn on you and fuck you over pretty quick. All it takes is for them to see a chance to raise their status with the hive by trashing you. The recent article Mittens wrote trashing Trump was a classic example. Mittens was hurting in his campaign, asked Trump for help, Trump helped him, as soon as he's elected Mittens trashes Trump to gain status with the hive.

Re: Urban vs. Rural; What's to be done?
What makes you think this is a effective line of argument? Since when are liberals for "giving people power?" This is a big part of why we have this argument. When we are talking about the Urban/rural divide, the urbanites are technocrats and autocrats they value a process and bureaucracy of establishing bona fides hence why they value "education," it's why they want a license and "proper education" to braid fucking hair they want this over every aspect of life. Who the hell do you think you are appealing too? You may argue with everyone but it sounds like you are shit at it.jediuser598 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 2:27 pmI argue gun rights against those liberals. I say probably because I don't go around asking everyone I know what side they are on. I also say probably because during normal conversations you pick up hints. Sometimes those hints are not subtle, depending on the topic of conversation. The thing is, the Liberals we on MHF despise so much are not moderate Democrats or even classic liberals. Those people remain reasonable. I can disagree with my friends on issues without either side going into all-out #resist mode where civility is lost.jediuser598 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 11:37 amYou need to find yourself some liberals and go talk to them in real life. So yeah, I avoid the crazy ones. Those are the ones I refer to in my posts, not Democrats like Martin that I would be able to hold a respectful conversation with, and probably be able to come to a compromise with on most of the things we don't agree on.
It's fun because I break it down like this, gun are just power. The power to do something. Your keys in your fist aren't going to do as much as a snub nosed .38 when we talk about self defense. The fundamental thing we're arguing about here is power.
When some liberals say "I'm against the 2nd amendment" what they're really saying is "I'm against giving people power." 50% of those people are women, I'm for giving women more power, so as a feminist they're arguing that women in this country should have less power? Huh?

You are dead on about the 2nd Amendment and guns being about power . To be for repeal of the 2nd Amendment or strict gun control is the same as promoting the monopolization of force with the government.

Don't starve the beast, unless its something that will actually benefit our country and keep it a place worth living in. Orange man bad. Open borders good. Do you think that tens of millions of illegals naturalized into the labor market will increase or decrease your shelf stocking paycheck? I'm sure employers will totally be fine with paying you more money when they have 10 million Hondurans who will work for half your hourly wage at your job. But hey, the price of a gallon of milk cost 5.29 so you should be getting $30/hour minimum wage now right? Sell the forum on why open borders are great for pre-existing labor in this country, to say nothing of all the welfare benefits they will take out of your paycheck via taxes.jediuser598 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 7:07 pmThough why the "starve the beast" types want to give Trump billions of tax payer dollars, I've no idea.C-Mag wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 6:02 pmI love debating a wide variety of people too. I'm not asking the government to build the fence around my house or to build me a pool in the backyard. That's the difference. Liberals want government to pay their way through life. I want the government to pay for things that allow me to live my own life.jediuser598 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 7:07 pmThough why the "starve the beast" types want to give Trump billions of tax payer dollars, I've no idea.
