If they were provided without profit to all members of a society - they would then become a public good.
According to this definition both health care and education could be considered public goods.

There is no argument here. If you believe the government can only rightly tax for and subsidize a public good, then you need to make that argument.

Because, frankly, nobody else here thinks it is relevant to the discussion.
