Ivy League degrees absolutely open up magic doors.

The argument is similar to saying racism can't be profitable.

So many of those the jobs harvard folks get are protected from market forces.

As long as those people control government, it will continue to flourish.

The prestige of the school you went to may be the most powerful influence of your life; nobody even asks what you degreed in. A Harvard Bachelors of Masturbation beats out 3 doctorates and 4 professional licenses anyday.

Prepare for incoming feminists to the right. Women cannot even have their own universities any longer.

Men who pretend to be women are probably the biggest SJW self-destruct sequence out there.

Yep, they happily get to serve as the gatekeeper for our betters. And, they just took the intellectual midget David Hoag who rode to fame as a high school gun grabber. That's what they see as elite.

Problem being: most Ivy Leaguers really are the intellectual inferiors of real college graduates. Yes they help each other into positions, but their incompetence also tends towards destruction of those very institutions. On this current trajectory, places like Harvard will only have this power in government because they bankrupted all the corporations they controlled.

It's also a lot of other places, including Berkeley, for example. Google lives to recruit from there. Google's innovation is in sharp decline now, and the work environment is characterized as a PC reign of terror. Few truly genius engineers and computer scientists really want to work there.

This is a dark age of a sort.

It takes generations of these kinds of inferiors to collapse government institutions though.

Also, many of these places have Might Makes Right type of influences where, even if they are wrong they are right.

Not quite the same but serves as an example. Some times people used to say "invest like warren buffet".... but you can't. I read a paper, can't find it now, but if you invested exactly as he did - you would have lost money - even though he made money - because the volumes he worked in allowed him to get sweetheart discounts that you never could. (such 5% off because you bought a million shares, or special voting right stock, or first in line at IPO, or whatever)

Its the same for Ivy League.

A random financial advisors has to be better than a goldman sachs one. If they are merely equal, the Goldman one will destroy the other because of the influence and volume opportunities that a land grant degree advisor could never get.

You have to be better than an Ivy League degree person to be equal.

??? You can never be "equal" because status is blind to achievement.

Not only is it trivial to be better than the average Ivy League graduate, the average Ivy League graduates these days are so utterly incompetent at anything important that they are decimating the corporate world where they take hold.

I agree it takes time, but a regime of incompetent nepotism eventually destroys itself. We are seeing that now.

Their grip on the government, however, is somewhat intractable since the government -- and the people who serve in it -- are beyond accountability for pretty much anything.

My opinion of most of these people is actually exceedingly low. Anybody who trades on the status of their degree rather than their talent and skills is suspect. All great tech corporations began with people who opted out of that system, run by true engineers, and only topple into decay and bankruptcy when the original engineers leave or die, and are replaced by Ivy League MBA types who always as fucking ever run the corporation into the ground.

Furthermore, a corporation that leans heavily on Ivy League graduates is suspect. I don't want to work there because odds are pretty high it's a fucking reign of terror workplace with racist leftists and purple-haired transvestites spending all their time coming up with political roles akin to a communist political officer.

I do make an exception for Northwestern and University of Chicago, just from personal experience, but it's likely only a matter of time before those institutions become compromised as well.

I guess.. to me anyway.. unearned honor, of any kind, is a fucking joke. I don't take it seriously. If they want to play their games and run corporations into bankruptcy, create PC nightmare workplaces, then by all means. Let them do their thing.

Where I think shit needs to change is in government. We need to treat these people the same way the Masons were once shut down in the 19th century with the Anti-Masonic movements that rooted them out of power. It's the same problem, really.
