Whoooa. Did I fall into a time warp back to the 80's?
Who cares about Northern Ireland?
It doesn't mean shit to us, and the people it does mean shit to have already given up on it. What's next? Re-litigating the creation of Israel?
Y'all ran out of current issues to bitch about?
Backstop dear boy. It is a current issue of great importance to the UK.
Not sure why some Americans are so invested in returning us to civil war though.
YOU have not had a civil war in 500 years.
Ireland. Is. Not. Yours.
I look forward to you returning the US to its native American population.
derp...
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Just because the uninformed cannot see that remaining in the customs union is in our nationalistic best interests does not make it false.
You seem to think that I prefer the best interests of the EU over the best interests of my nation. The opposite is true. Just so happens that I think our best interests lie in continued free trade with our largest trading partner.
We can be a much bigger trading partner, you twits.
No you can't. Especially with your tariff loving Presidunce in charge.

Where did you get the idea that I'm pro-EU? If you go back to page 1 you will see I'm a reluctant Remainer on the grounds that I don't wish to commit economic suicide.
I'm anti-federalisation just like my representatives were in the EU parliament.
Vote Remain if you are a pro-EU globalist.
Vote Brexit if you are a nationalist.
It's not complicated. That literally is what the vote was about. Nationalism versus globalism, and you voted globalism. Now you want to use nationalistic arguments to hang on to Northern Ireland? Contradiction.
Just the sort of vast oversimplification of the issue I have come to expect from you. Totally wrong as well.
The Brexit vote was literally a vote for nationalism rather than globalism. If Brussels has the authority to set and alter British law, then you don't have national sovereignty. Brussels is your sovereign.
Yet if you are going to argue that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom because the majority of the people identify as Britons (a nationalistic sentiment), then you cannot then argue the UK should remain in the EU. These things are in direct contradiction.
Again: what exactly would you say if Brussels decided Northern Ireland needs to be handed back to Ireland had Remain won the vote instead? If EU is a good idea, then Brussels has that authority.

If we had taken it 20 years ago, in an undeclared war, we probably would.
Or you can wait 200 years for your legitimacy to be confirmed.
Either way, if it’s yours, then it’s fucking yours. You broke it, you bought it. Now put up a border, and don’t worry about the Cherokee getting cut off from the Sioux.
If it’s not yours, then get the fuck out of there.

All law from Brussels had to first get past our veto and then due to Parliamentary Supremacy had to pass in the Commons and the Lords.
Loss of sovereignty is a Brexit myth.
Brussels could not demand we abandon the people of NI without our approval.
Brussels does not have that authority.

20 years? Get the fuck out of here with your ignorant nonsense.
British rule in Ireland may refer to:
Lordship of Ireland (1171–1542)
Kingdom of Ireland (1542–1800)
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1801–1922)
Northern Ireland (1923–present)
The same periods are also dealt with as:
History of Ireland (1169–1536), when England invaded and conquered Ireland
History of Ireland (1536–1691), when England ruled all of Ireland
History of Ireland (1691–1801), the time of the Protestant Ascendency
History of Ireland (1801–1923), when Ireland was merged with the United Kingdom
Northern Ireland, the present

Ok, do you own NI?
Do you also own ROI?
What are you confused about?

I'm not confused about either. Neither am I ignorant of the consequences of a hard border between the two or washing our hands of NI.

Answer my first 2 questions please. Are they yours or not?

Borders don't matter
Borders matter
Pick one.
