The larger (twice the size) of the groups demands $50k. This group also complains of the US stealing from Honduras. Doesn't sound anything close to someone seeking asylum.Asylum seekers showed up at the consulate in two groups, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune, with one of the groups—made up of roughly 100 people—delivering the $50,000 demand.
Asked how the asylum seekers came up with the figure, organizer Alfonso Guerrero Ulloa of Honduras told the newspaper that while "it may seem like a lot of money to you...it is a small sum compared to everything that the United States has stolen from Honduras."
In a letter outlining the ultimatum, the group reportedly criticized U.S. intervention in Central America. The U.S. intervened in numerous military coups as it sought to protect commercial interests in the region.
The second group to show up to the consulate, which included about 50 people, had a different demand: that U.S. immigration officers at the San Ysidro port of entry in San Diego process asylum applications faster and in greater numbers.

Is there any discussion in the US about the 2009 coup in Honduras and Hillary's role in it? The refugees should get $50.000 each from the Clinton Foundation.

Yep. No more votes can be squeezed from it, so the politicians and media are back to "well, fuck the border" again.
They didn't get enough traction from the "women and children" angle after the migrants violently rushed border patrol, so they dropped it.

I was there that Spring, in Comayagua about 40 miles outside the capital of Tegucigalpa. It was a 3rd world shithole. The country was actually run by about 5 'Governors' who were really war lords, they had their own laws in their regions of control, their own Policia, it's messed up. I left about a month before the coup. The CIA was there.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Dec 13, 2018 1:29 pmThis is news to meIs there any discussion in the US about the 2009 coup in Honduras and Hillary's role in it?

Anyway, googled the story Hastur mentioned. This popped up:

Clinton has claimed that calling the military coup a military coup would have increased the suffering of ordinary Hondurans as it would have triggered the suspension of US aid.

Soto Cano, Humanitarian Mission, building schools and clinics. I had been to Honduras about a decade previously, on the Mosquito Coast. I preferred that area to being near the capital, it was a cool place, the people spoke this weird Creole-Spanish Language.BjornP wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 9:53 amFor holiday or...working at Soto Cano Air Base?C-Mag wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 10:32 amI was there that Spring, in Comayagua about 40 miles outside the capital of Tegucigalpa. The best thing about the Soto Cano trip was the 'drug' deal we made to expand the Army NCO Club, if for no other reason it really pissed off the Air Force..................... the USAF thinks they run that place.
