Some of you dazzling young urbanites would probably learn a lot by visiting the child support docket one morning and getting a load of the proceedings.

It’s clearly unfair, as long as it’s “can’t” and not “won’t.” I’d like to take you on a little time travel to see what it used to be like before child support was mandatory. Dad lives in his nice house with young wife and new child, while mom and obsolescent kids stand in line for government cheese and get denied decent housing, medical care, and college. Disposable families. Or mom endures the weekly beating because her kids will have no place to live if she doesn’t.
The current situation didn’t spring up out of nowhere.
Some people only care about the future of a child when it is in the womb and want to abandon all responsibility once it is born.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
Was talking to a gender studies professor about how women don't know how to handle power. They're used to this sort of passive aggressive power, where they think change you can't actually measure matters more than change you can measure.
Women go around thinking that every man is a potential danger, and that they can do nothing about it. They could get a gun and practice with it, training with a snub nosed .38 will save you more than any defense class will.
Because we're both nerds, we also talked about Shuri, the sister to Black Panther. Now here's a hero that's what, much smarter than Tony, Bruce, and Reed Richards, but she's not doing her own thing? She's supposedly the smartest marvel character, but she's playing second fiddle to her brother?
It seems to me that, overall women can't even imagine themselves in power. If Shuri is that smart, she should be *thee* pivot point in the MCU. She could do more than Dr. Doom ever did, more than Stark has done, more than Bruce was ever capable of, yet there she is in a supporting role instead of going out there and wielding her potential power.
Women are the best advocates for themselves and if they really wanted to fight injustices, then they should be out there using their natural talents and fighting for their rights. (not to say some aren't) They shouldn't be just protesting, they should be taking primaries off of people, and winning elections, and getting those legislative spots. They should be interested in results based activism. Go out there and get results. Men don't tend to give up power, no one does, it is taken from them.
Thy praise or dispraise is to me alike:
One doth not stroke me, nor the other strike.
-Ben Johnson
The path to power is fraught with many barriers and pitfalls...
Women have traditionally courted power from the supporting role.
Nurturing their sons and care taking their husbands so that their resources were freed up to pursue power.
Understandably this role is restrictive but the female package of inborn instincts is more conducive to this role and females as a role are averse to conflict and confrontation... probably because physically they were not in a position to succeed when such conflicts escalated.
So to pursue power women have different internal obstacles than men to overcome... but then again pursuing power is only one part of achieving a balanced and satisfying life... many pursue power for it's own sake and this is a pitfall on the road to a satisfying life outcome.

like the millions of single mothers and Democratic voters in urban areas who don't even pretend to create a decent environment for their children, almost guaranteeing that it will be repeat the cycle of dependence and thuggery. To them a child is simply the easiest route to govt checks and EBT cards...
