Yep. With choice comes responsibility. We all deserve the right to make our own choices. It's the truth of equality, though, not just feminism.DrYouth wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 12:22 pm
The promise of feminism was freedom and happiness.
The truth of feminism is more responsibility and less time to participate in the nurturing activities of womanhood.
I don't really disagree with any of this.
I mean despite this women are still more "empowered"... although for many this may be worth all of it... for some it may be cold comfort.

Inaccurate.
The motte shown is an early Norman design circa 1066-1200 yet the timber-framed thatched houses in the bailey are a much later Tudor design from several centuries later. Norman buildings of the time were more likely to have tiled roofs as shown in the Bayeux Tapestry.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

So back to the title of this thread - take responsibility, it you take more time off and choose jobs in "human contact" (HR, nursing, education, social work, etc) that pay less than STEM and more dangerous trade jobs that pay more, the "pay gap" is nonsense - and stop blaming "the patriarchy" (ie, "men") for your choices.
If you put off having children until you're 35," and then "can't find a decent man", it's not men's fault you wasted your youngest most-attractive fertile younger years on "having fun and building your career".
That's the feminist problem - I'm all for you "taking responsibility", so stop blaming men for it, stop expecting men are going to lower the standards, bend over backwards, etc, to "help" you if you want to be competitive. And if you'd rather be cooperative, that's fine too - stop playing the blame game there too, it doesn't foster cooperation.

Or we could just take over and run things our way. That would be competing with men on their own level.Ph64 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 1:27 pm

That too. Potholes in the road? Better grab a shovel. Trashed your suspension from those potholes? There's some old wrenches over there, go fix it. Power went out in that storm? Hope you learned about electricity in school, you're gonna need it. Hope you learned how to fix plumbing, heating, A/C, etc too.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 2:02 pmOr we could just take over and run things our way. Or maybe you don't want the jobs that actually built the infrastructure you use? We can let it collapse then...

You're assuming most men have an interest in manual labor and that women can't learn the trades.Ph64 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 2:11 pmThat too. Potholes in the road? Better grab a shovel.
