It becomes infinitely less interesting every time milspecs comes in here to lie and distort rather than debate honestly.
Her perspective goes a long way to keep this from being an echo chamber...
What is a forum if everyone agrees? A circle jerk.
I want her to debate me. What I am tired of is the lying and deliberate distortions to avoid debate.

Look at that dishonest shit she just pulled. It's just lying.

I think you overestimate how clear you are making yourself.
Your arguments make perfect sense to you...

When you get challenged by Milspecs or DB or pretty much anyone, you often think they are misrepresenting you (lying) when often they just haven't fully understood your argument... from your perspective... which of course they can't.

Later when you calm down... you often make a lot of sense... that's happened a few times in this thread.

Thank you, Doc.

It’s very frustrating to be called a liar, especially when it comes to women’s issues and marriage. I have some long term experience in both. ;) Couple that with the reality that these issues aren’t black and white. I attempt to convey what it feels like to navigate them from this side. I truly think most men don’t know how their wives may resent having been held back because they don’t see their wives as being the same as themselves, if that makes sense. They see women as different, but we are not different.

Uh, well.... you kind of are different... obviously... lol
But in some ways you aren't.

And I think that pretty much sums up the gender wars right there! :D

Except we’re the same in most ways. I think men tend to see women through a somewhat distorted lens, and perhaps the opposite is also true.

i think you are full of it right now. Regardless of what you think of my argument, even as we all know you never bothered to read any of it, it is undeniable that twice this person deliberately lied and distorted what I wrote, in obvious fashion too, and yet here you are tone policing me calling out your lying friend.

I grow more tired of your pretend neutrality than I do of her lying. You are nothing but hostile towards me and even now are behaving just as disingenuously as her.

If I did to her what she doing, you'd be criticizing me for that. Instead you def3nd her by criticizing my calling out this dishonest behavior in the first place.

The woman literally just took my post, removed my link to a woman's essay about women's unhappiness, quoted my response to that essay as if I were the one initially stating her argument, and then faked outrage that a man dare opine on what makes women happy.

That is utterly dishonest and an insult to our entire forum and yet you defend it.

Furthermore, it is sexist as fuck.

Yet here you are tone policing me for criticizing her lying because she cannot debate.

You are not some neutral arbiter of anything here. Kindly fuck off with that noise.

:hand: I almost always remove links and extraneous verbiage when responding to a post to make my replies easier to read, unless I’m really in a rush and don’t have time to edit. I’m a technical writer, remember? I even correct grammar and sentence structure in my posts if I have time.

Meh... who the fuck is neutral?

You are no paragon of debating skills.

You can make good arguments when you want to... but way too often you just fall back on the "lying" thing.

It's boring.

All the best technical writing omits links and citations to authority. Appellate courts love that kind of technical writing.
