It seems like you're gonna have to start at the basics there, Monte..
But I thought these guys were all experts on Brexit. I mean they are all telling me what we should do.
Can't even be bothered to look up what the ''backstop'' is yet here they all are telling me we should have just left the day after the referendum.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
I even posted an entertaining vid where the problems were highlighted but no one seems to have watched it.

Oh, I didn't watch that video either.. I read a Danish article with nice, easy to understand maps of and an explanation of what the backstop is, and what it's such an issue in the negotiations. They linked to this article, too:

TBF, the video wasn't really aimed at people like you who are prepared to look into the issues with an op en mind and try to understand all the positions.
It was there to explain to the single issue low info crowd who think the delay in implementing Brexit is just some conspiracy to deprive the populous of their will.
I guess they just lazily believe that because they don't agree with anything I ever say that I don't know what I'm talking about.

Good article in the Irish Times BTW. Let's hope they read it before they go on spouting nonsense about ignoring the referendum results.

I know, I am a very open-minded, knowledgeable and humble sort of person. As for some of the Americans here, alot of them just think in terms of there only ever being, and being possible to only be, two sides to an issue. Democrat vs. Republican, Conservative vs Liberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist (there can only be two sides, after all... ). Therefore anything you say needs to be pushed into one of two boxes.
Which is why you, Otern and Hastur are the three posters most likely to make me rethink what I say. It says a lot about the difference between US and European political debate.

It seems like you are saying it all comes down to Euro versus American sides here.. Open-minded enlightened ones" versus gruff Americans who only think in dualities..
What about the Canadians? They are more or less Britts with a slight tinge of Americana.
The two party thing started in the UK by the way so don't try to shift blame Monte.

European Man's Burden, it is. Thankfully, after several decades of immigrant-skeptic, populist European politics, the slow, gruff, dualistic Americans could be starting to abandon their two party, two sides, and double-portion meals and adopt a more enlightened, European, freer way of thinking allowing for multiple possibilities to their many, many problems. Like those drug barons in the US state of Mexico. Our ways of doing politics crossed the ocean to save you just in time.
