Re: Literal Odds and Ends
Trouble is it's the dicks who have no clue how to cope with the snow that end up blocking the roads for everyone else.
Same with other adverse conditions. When I was doing the Vinnie Jones film there were a lot of mornings where the fog was so thick that visibility was down to about 50 yds. I lost track of all the times some potential victim of natural selection passed me doing about 60mph.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Snow isn’t an issue until the next day, when it’s compacted by all the cars. Once it’s ice, forget it. You’re gonna have a bad time without salt on the roads.

Re: Literal Odds and Ends
Don't think we have a thread about the complexity of English grammar so I thought I'd drop this here for a little Sunday morning reflection...
Time Flies Like an Arrow (Fruit Flies Like a Banana)
An Ode to Oettinger
Now, thin fruit flies like thunderstorms
And thin farm boys like farm girls narrow;
And tax firm men like fat tax forms -
But time flies like an arrow.
When tax forms tax all firm men’s souls,
While farm girls slim their boyfriends’ flanks;
That’s when the murd’rous thunder rolls -
And thins the fruit flies ranks.
Like tossed bananas in the skies,
The thin fruit flies like common yarrow;
Then's the time to time the time flies -
Like the time flies like an arrow

The thundersnow was weird compared to when I saw it in Chicago. The cloud cover would just flash blue and green but there was no audible thunder.

When I was young and too much of a hippy I drove the 250 miles with a few friends to Glastonbury Tor so that I could be there at 23.45 on the 6th of the 7th '89.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:56 amThe thundersnow was weird compared to when I saw it in Chicago. We were rewarded with something similar.
Glastonbury Tor overlooks the Vale of Albion and all around us was an electrical storm with no thunder and no rain but shit loads of lightning. The wind, however, was so strong we had to squeeze into the remains of the church which stands on top of the Tor with all the other hippies so that we could roll a joint.

I found a bug that looks just like part of the tree. I put him back on the tree. See if you can spot him.

I just transferred all my money to a charity fund for squatamalen refugees. Wasn't much but hopefully it's enough to clothe them with decent Disney tshirts.

Might be more effective if they all wear Smurfs shirts.
