Problem: they don't necessarily start out that way. People change. Women can hide the crazy sometimes. Also, women with borderline personality disorder can cope with it better early on and it gets much worse as they get a little older.
I would begin, however, by avoiding all women who refer to their men as "partners". He's your husband, fiance, or boyfriend. If the house is on fire, you are not partners in saving your life and the life of your children. If some dudes invade the home, you are not partners in grabbing the shotgun and engaging.
Women don't really want to be partners, and if they talk like they do, you can be sure there will be cognitive dissonance leading to blaming the man when reality and "partnership" do not match.

If they go crazy later ... well, what can you do?
It's like those spouses who do 20 years before "discovering" they're homosexuals (even though we're assured repeatedly that sexuality is not a choice).
