How do we know that you aren't one of them though? I'd like to believe you, and to be honest you almost got me to give up meat, but before I commit, I need to make sure that you are not all talk. Can you prove to me that you have never eaten any kind of animal protein? You could be eating a porterhouse right now for all I know. I'm not going to give up meat if you are some kind of false prophet, but a big part of me wants to believe you are a 16% who actually practices meat abstinence.

I last ate meat (knowingly) more than eleven years ago. Having resolved against meat, I never once went back to it, nor to other animal products. Being a murderer before, I am no longer, and never will be, that is how I live with myself.heydaralon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 9:27 pmIf JD is actually a Vegan, then there is an 84% chance he has gone back to meat, most likely more than once. Since he appears to be able to type and read, then he clearly didn't have brain damage from childhood, meaning his parents, if they loved him, fed him meat in his diet. All this points to him being a murderer of innocent animals, just like the rest of us. This doesn't sit well with me. The murder is bad enough, but its the hypocrisy I can't stand. Be honest JD: When did you last eat me? How can you live with yourself?

You are still evil though. Uday Hussein wouldn't get a pass just because he stopped torturing people. You still need to answer for your crimes against non humanity. I have convened a petting zoo to hear your case.

Hey, if that works for you cool. More meat and killing available to me. I personally find killing animals to be a very spiritual moving thing. It's an awesome power to watch the life go out of animals eyes.

If someone killed your family members and told you that it was awesome watching the life go out of their eyes would that constitute an argument or justification? If not in that case, why in this case?

Meh. Denying the natural order of literally ALL sentient life known to exist is a little silly. You're not a plankton, or a spruce. You consume, in order to survive. Anything else is just avoidance.
You use animal product every minute of your day, whether you realize it or not.

You're making the futility fallacy and appeal to nature fallacy.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 11:37 pmMeh. I suppose I’m appealing to nature and futility, but I dispute that they’re fallacious in this case.JohnDonne wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 11:45 pmYou're making the futility fallacy and appeal to nature fallacy.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 11:37 pmMeh. You can certainly survive on a “vegan” diet for a long time, but it’s hardly sustainable for everyone to do so. And it’s pretty silly to claim that you’re not responsible for the death of animals while doing so. The number of lesser creatures killed in the process of raising a field of wheat is uncountable.
My main point though is that it’s not very healthy to deny your nature. That conflict and guilt aren’t going to help you in any way. Better to accept what you are - an omnivore largely in control of all life on the planet.
