like who, me? we were 6 years into the war before i was able to start voting for anti-war candidates, ron paul '08 baby. you're just gonna come into the anti-war thread and passive-aggressively call me out for the wars, as if the military industrial complex hadn't already been well-established before i was born, like some 29 year old is responsible for the twenty year war. very fucking indicative of the level of discourse going on at the MHF these days. total bitch shit. hack bitch shit, even.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 11:37 amI really get a kick out of the very kinds of voters who are responsible for a twenty-year war complaining about it like they dindu nuffin.

Yet somehow, I can vote on the candidates I’m given, and end wars.
And I’m a scumbag for not doing so.
Deep stuff, Quixote.

You get the candidates that appeal to the demands of the majority of the electorate. When the majority of the electorate aren't getting their fat asses loaded onto a C-5 to fight these wars, guess how many candidates actually plan to do a God damned thing about endless wars.. NONE.
If you had to go fight these wars whether you wanted to or not, I bet there would be candidates who run on a platform of really ending this shit, and they'd win, because only then would you actually give a shit.

the hilarious part is that Obama was the overwhelmingly-elected anti-war candidate in 2008, and yet even while maintaining troop levels through 2016 after being president for 7 years he still would say "I do not support the idea of endless war"

And what happened when he doubled down on war?pineapplemike wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 2:15 pmthe hilarious part is that Obama was the overwhelmingly-elected anti-war candidate in 2008, and yet even while maintaining troop levels in 2015 after being president for 7 years he still would say "I do not support the idea of endless war"
You fuckers re-elected him.
You do not care more about endless war as you do about things that actually do affect you. Candidates appeal to shit you care about. The shit you have an opinion about they just virtue signal and will violate at their convenience.
We have endless wars because you all have a vote and you will not be fighting the wars your votes make possible.

Quite a few of you are still voting, apparently voluntarily, for goddam commie treasonous motherfuckers.
So save it for somebody who GAF about your oh-so-well-informed voting strategies.
