What exactly is it that the urban life does to either eliminate or alleviate "boredom?"

I suppose I could first ask for a definition of "boredom," and then an explication of why it is "bad."

Let's just start with how the city helps out in this boredom situation.

Being stuck in traffic makes you too angry to be bored. Most hicks think going out in the woods is fun. Little do they know that true fulfillment lies in watching some cultural marxist demonstration or observing a homeless person wipe their filthy ass at an intersection. The rubes don't really know what they are missing tbh.

Let's just start with how the city helps out in this boredom situation.

Seriously? It is literally the city that never sleeps. There’s always something to do somewhere. Even smaller cities tend to have varied activities close by. If I get bored, it’s on me, not for lack of new things to try.

I envy the food options of city-folk, but that’s it. I cannot stand being in crowds of rude strangers. Doing it every single day? Id probably wind up a mass shooter.

It’s definitely a matter of personal preference as well. City Mouse/Country Mouse. I really don’t think one is better than the other as far as the people. It’s more a willingness to change when the circumstances demand it.

You would do well anywhere, C-Mag, since you clearly have a work ethic and smarts. I believe you when you say you choose to remain in the country out of preference for the lifestyle. Believe me when I say that many urban and suburban folks aren’t just driven by money. For many of us, it’s that we’d be bored out of our minds with the slower paced lifestyle. There’s always something better somewhere else. We have to move - it’s the way we’re built. That mindset just aligns well with capitalism.

That's fine if people are built that way...……… genetically predispositioned to urban life. Cool, variety is good. If that's the case, then why do so many of these people leave the city. People are fleeing California like crazy.


To cut to the bottom line, here's my problem with all this.
Far too often urbanites go make their wealth in cities, contribute and vote for high tax and high regulatory government. Then when that place becomes to restrictive and too expense to live in, they leave for a lower tax, lower regulatory area, bringing with them their opinions and voting and soon that area suffers from the same problems they just left.


Like Locusts. Consuming, destroying and leaving.
