I have never eaten a horse, but they probably taste delicious. I wish I could have eaten Black Beauty after he died, because dark equine meat is supposed to be tasty. Did you think it tasted like beef?

Same reason no other polytheistic faiths historically went on pagan "crusades". You could even compare to the ancient Jews. Their rules about not eating pork was not meant to be universal. It's like: "If you are one of us, if you want to belong, you obey these rules".

Muslims who kill people for drawing cartoons, do so because they believe the whole world must, needs, and ought to be Muslim. Like Christianity, it is a universalistic faith. Hinduism doesn't demand, request or proscribe that Hinduism should be spread to the whole world.
