People with integrity can NOT be elected.

I didn't, but I knew he would regret it when the shoe was on the other foot. It was called the nuclear option for a reason. There was no going back. Sorry, you broke the space time continuum. They overplayed their hand as always and now they must suffer for it. If they dont how will they ever learn?
Wait until a Republican president nominates someone in a D controlled Senate. The only people who think it was a good idea for either team to pull that crap are people who can't see more than 15 minutes in the future.

From now on, SCOTUS nominees will only be confirmed with same Party president and Senate. I can't see it changing back - why?

FL Update:

- Every county but Palm Beach has recounted. Election supervisor for PB said the machines overheated so they were unable to finish on time.

- In response, Senator Nelson is suing to have PB votes recounted again by hand this time.

- Results so far from the recount (minus PB) give Gov. Scott an additional 54 votes. Nelson still down by about 12K.

-Strangely, all reports (locally) have not mentioned the Governor recount since last weekend. It's solely focused on Scott/Nelson.

Not seeing the point at this juncture for continuing. D's are intentionally dragging their feet and making this as long as possible. I'm not seeing the advantage for doing so, I feel like they are waiting for something to happen (not recount related).

Please just go away, Bill. /sigh

I live in Broward. Shit went down a mile from Nerd during Bush/Gore silliness. He says it was nutz, ridiculous traffic; put the snow birds to shame.

Snipes needs to go; it's embarrassing.

Do their jobs? If the jobs is to represent the people of your state and they say block that shot at all cost then filibuster would indeed be them doing their jobs. Your folksy witticisms are falling short of reality and defending positions you swore you werent defending that you now double down on defending but not really.
Lol - have you ever written one of your congress creatures? The boilerplate answers are along the lines of "don't you worry your pretty little head about it. We know best for you."

They get re-elected at a 90%+ rate. They have no need to cater to voters. Job performance rating: 10%. Re-election rate: 90%. What a great gig.
We have been over this already, everybody like their congressperson it the other 434 people cant stand and are dissatisfied with. Folksy witticism-0/1

My congressman assigned staff to contact me about my issue personally. Sorry that you live in a democratic party district. I don't agree with everything congressman Meadows stands for, but he's a stand up guy who looks out for his constituents. Stop voting for "migrant caravan" for a change.
Actually, Marco Rubio sent me the worst response I've ever gotten. I haven't written to Deuche since we moved to this city two years ago. I'm in the "why bother, " camp, now. They simply don't care what our opinions are.

What do you expect from a US Senator? Go to your state rep or state Sen.

As for Rubio, love em.

Uh what? You are conflating the nuclear option with the Biden rule? The filibuster, the "old ways", or the nuclear option didn't prevent any of what you are talking about. It's far easier to block nominees with a majority and was never at issue. Folksy witticism 0/2

I dont know about that they may try to drag their feet but there is no way a caucus can hold out that long on a qualified nominee. A vacancy in a year not divisible by 4 will eventually be filled, it may take some compromise but it will happen.

"Kath is projecting her own beliefs on the average voter. She thinks that because most politicians don't represent her beliefs, that most voters aren't represented by their representatives either. She seems to refuse to consider that the average American voter simply has different beliefs than her and she is being drowned out by them while the politicians pander to them instead of her, because it wins them more votes."
