I dont care for them. They are usually in shitty little suburbs that just end up overrun with pajaeets and nigerians. I like the idea of gentrification where white people drive out the poorer blacks and revamp half a century or older houses and make nice little neighborhoods close to where the city center is. Enjoy your commute.

I’m told that they’re the same as other homes, but I don’t really believe it. Besides, I won’t live in a house without a basement.
Why do you like basements so much?
Because tornadoes are a thing, and they’re better for storing food. :)

But everything PH said, as well.

$440 for 2 cords of firewood this year (was only $400 last year), plus I started with maybe 2/3 of a cord from a tree I took down in the spring - backup if I burn though the more seasoned stuff. Might get another 1/2 cord since I have empty rack space, but it'll get me through winter.

I don't struggle with the bills, though I might struggle keeping the place warm in sub-zero temps. I don't mind sweaters/sweatshirts though, and prefer it around 60-62 anyways when sleeping.

Staying in a friend's house to watch it as it goes off the market. More of a favor to me than him I just have to tend the lawn and turn it over clean for the next tenant. I helped him move out. By help I mean the brunt of it. But yeah I just set his AC to cool at 88 degrees and left it. Doesnt matter how hot or cold it gets in a house because I've lived in a van for years when the temperature ranged from 105 all the way to 22. Of course I talk tough now while I'm wearing my milsurp thermals. I think it's like 48 rn. Just seems like such a waste to heat this 4 bedroom home for little ol me.

I had to google Manufactured Homes. I thought you were talking about modular homes or prefabricated buildings. Very common around here. So Manufactured Homes needs to have permanently attached chassis to ensure transportability? What's the difference between that and a trailer park house, or is it the same?

So, Manufactured homes.
There are really three classes. First the Infamous Trailer House

Second, the Modular Home

Third is a pre-Fabricated home
These can vary from just prefabricated Wall sections, to entire home sections.

And, I'll add a Fourth type, the Tiny Home...…….. or as I call them, Hipster Trailer House

I assume from the OP that the question is about a Modular Home by these definitions.
