I'm all for debate clubs and extra curriculur stuff that increases knowledge. I just don't think that the school system is a place for political activism. If you want to protest, fine, but that's not what school is for. In fact, if that was what is was for, I wouldn't have gone to it, because that isn't a good use of my time. Schools are already politicized enough in this country with the curriculum wars waged every year.

I don't disagree with any of this. However, this ain't the first time some fad junk science got itself into the curriculum, and it won't be the last. The good news is that it is already getting push back, and I doubt the stupidest shit will be long for the world. Then it will serve as another useful object lesson in critical thinking.
