Re: Russia! Russia!! Russia!!!
I'm beginning to understand why Trump didn't fire Rosenstein several weeks ago when he had a great opportunity to do so when it was revealed that Rosenstein was plotting to wear a wire and attempt to get a recording of Trump saying something bad.(see my 4D chess post 10/10) Rosenstein offered his resignation, but it was refused. Then Trump made nice, had Rosenstein on Air Force One for a trip and publicly stated the relationship between the two was good.
It appears Trump already had a plan to deal with Sessions and Rosenstein. Firing Rosenstein several weeks ago while Sessions was still head of the DOJ, would allow Sessions Deep State handlers to have Beauregard to replace Rosenstein with carbon copy NPC. By waiting, replacing Sessions after the mid-terms, Trump was able to kill two birds with one stone.

He also owns Rosenstein now. I have a suspicion Rosenstein will only resign because he cannot stand being Trump's man.

Yeah exactly, why throw out Rosenstein when you can keep him around as leverage. It appears that Mueller is winding down the investigation anyway, no need to make any big moves beyond firing that dumb southerner.
Is he seriously going after Roger Stone? Or Don Jr. for the Tower meeting? How weak. The press are expecting more indictments potentially this weekMueller's team has begun writing its final report, multiple sources told CNN.

Re: Russia! Russia!! Russia!!!
The big deal here is that Whitaker, while in the drivers seat needs to turn over all this subpoenaed evidence that Congress has been trying to get from the DOJ and FBI for the last 2 years. All the fraudulent 302's, all the fraudulent FISA docs, and bring Transparency to the situation. Once they are revealed for the frauds that they are, it's done.
The other thing Whitaker should do is review the Mueller Ethics Recusal Waiver that he was granted by Rosenstein. Mueller should not be involved with this. Whitaker needs to make the case that he is not shutting down the investigation, just reviewing and if he feels Mueller cannot be objective(which he can't), then replace him. Full transparency. Make the Coupsters whine about why it Must be Mueller that investigates Trump.

Trump’s Appointment of the Acting Attorney General Is Unconstitutional
The president is evading the requirement to seek the Senate’s advice and consent for the nation’s chief law enforcement officer and the person who will oversee the Mueller investigation.

VS.For Trump, Cohen Plea Deal's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Exoneration
https://www.realclearinvestigations.com ... trump.html
Contrary to media speculation that Robert Mueller is closing in on President Trump, the special prosecutor’s plea deal with Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen offers further evidence that the Trump campaign did not collude with Russians during the 2016 election, according to congressional investigators and former prosecutors.
Cohen pleaded guilty last week to making false statements in 2017 to the Senate intelligence committee about the Trump Organization’s failed efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Discussions about the so-called Moscow Project continued five months longer in 2016 than Cohen had initially stated under oath.
The nine-page charging document filed with the plea deal suggests that the special counsel is using the Moscow tower talks to connect Trump to Russia. But congressional investigators with House and Senate committees leading inquiries on the Russia question told RealClearInvestigations that it looks like Mueller withheld from the court details that would exonerate the president. They made this assessment in light of the charging document, known as a statement of “criminal information” (filed in lieu of an indictment when a defendant agrees to plead guilty); a fuller accounting of Cohen’s emails and text messages that Capitol Hill sources have seen; and the still-secret transcripts of closed-door testimony provided by a business associate of Cohen.
On page 7 of the statement of criminal information filed against Cohen, which is separate from but related to the plea agreement, Mueller mentions that Cohen tried to email Russian President Vladimir Putin’s office on Jan. 14, 2016, and again on Jan. 16, 2016. But Mueller, who personally signed the document, omitted the fact that Cohen did not have any direct points of contact at the Kremlin, and had resorted to sending the emails to a general press mailbox. Sources who have seen these additional emails point out that this omitted information undercuts the idea of a “back channel” and thus the special counsel's collusion case.
Page 2 of the same criminal information document holds additional exculpatory evidence for Trump, sources say. It quotes an August 2017 letter from Cohen to the Senate intelligence committee in which he states that Trump “was never in contact with anyone about this [Moscow Project] proposal other than me.” This section of Cohen’s written testimony, unlike other parts, is not disputed as false by Mueller, which sources say means prosecutors have tested its veracity through corroborating sources and found it to be accurate.
Also notable, Mueller did not challenge Cohen’s statement that he “ultimately determined that the proposal was not feasible and never agreed to make a trip to Russia.”
“Though Cohen may have lied to Congress about the dates,” one Hill investigator said, “it's clear from personal messages he sent in 2015 and 2016 that the Trump Organization did not have formal lines of communication set up with Putin’s office or the Kremlin during the campaign. There was no secret ‘back channel.’”
Mueller is building a conspiracy case that's likely to ensnare Trump and his family
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/ ... 183355002/
It appears that the Mueller investigation is reaching its endgame. After a two-month hiatus for the midterms, special counsel Robert Mueller's team is prepared to once again show its work. These developments are ominous for President Donald Trump. In short order, expect to see a case of conspiracy to interfere with the 2016 election to be laid out in court.
Defenders of the president have, despite the obvious progress of the Mueller investigation — more than 30 indictments or guilty pleas, including Trump’s campaign chairman, personal lawyer, national security adviser, deputy campaign manager and foreign policy adviser — consistently argued that “no collusion” has been proved. While it is true that the charges made public have not alleged conspiracy (there is no crime of “collusion”) it should be clear to all but the most obtuse by now that the endgame is drawing near. Mueller is laying out the predicate for a wide-ranging conspiracy case that will likely ensnare the president’s family and, quite likely, Trump himself.
Cohen’s plea on Thursday provides a key ingredient — motive. For those who long wondered why throughout the presidential campaign Trump could not bring himself to say a critical word about Russian President Vladimir Putin, we now know the answer: Trump was hoping to do business in Russia, and doing so would require the approval of Putin.
The putative Moscow project helps provide motive for Trump to have curried favor with Putin. And once Trump repeatedly and publicly denied having any business interests in Russia, Putin had leverage over Trump, because he knew this claim was an easily disprovable lie.
Cohen’s disclosure exposes not just Trump as having lied about his business interests in Russia, it potentially also exposes his family as well. Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner have both testified before Congress. We know Trump Jr. was asked about his role in negotiations about building Trump Tower Moscow, and while a transcript of Kushner’s testimony has not been made public, it is hard to imagine that he was not also asked about the Trump Organization’s business ties to Russia.
We now know that Cohen “briefed family members of” Trump about the progress of the venture. Did they testify truthfully about this? Mueller either knows or no doubt soon will find out.
The accumulation of evidence against the president seems to grow each week. Already facing potential charges of obstructing justice, Trump gave Mueller further ammunition this week when he publicly dangled the possibility of a presidential pardon for Paul Manafort, asking a reporter, “Why would I take it off the table?”
