They won the House, dude. We are that much closer to civil war now.
Not really, matters what they do with the power they hold now.

Not the blue wave some anticipated, but the red wall has plenty of cracks. One of those cracks is in Wisconsin. I am somewhat surprised Evers won. Walker survived multiple elections, one of them being a recall without much trouble.

I think what ultimately made the difference this time was his failed presidential run. A lot of people were not happy with the way he handled that. Almost immediately after being re-elected Governor he sort of abandoned his state to run for president. There were plenty of ads during the past few months pointing this out. That bad taste may have been what lost him this election.

Now we get to see hat happens when the Trump economy meets up with the new WI business climate. Evers career is in education, and he's promised to "restore" investments in education. For middle classers like me that means higher taxes wherever they can stick it to us. He proudly campaigned on raising taxes, and the 50% of the population that are the recipients of them (mostly living in Milwaukee or students in colleges) voted for their gibs. Will be interesting to see what this does to jobs in the state.
A wave don’t crack. A wall cracks.

Swedish reporting this morning is mainly focused on tallying up how many women, blacks, immigrants, Muslims, openly gay and transgendered won seats. Totally unironically as well. All of the Swedish media, right to left, consists of identitarian NPCs today. It's a travesty.

So, can Trump be forced to reveal his tax records now?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

This is kind of petty bullshit we have to look forward to from the House the next 2 years. Please dems, go all out like you did with Kavanaugh. Then in 2020 the backlash will be so swift you'll be back to 2016 tears.

Maybe this was a failed campaign to the experts, but for a lot of people, myself included, there was a lot of good in it: a chance to see the Texas I’ve always known was there — a place where working people and immigrants still have the right to thrive alongside those with much more; a place where we aren’t so devastatingly divided; a place where people are energized by the political process because they saw a way to make a difference. Mr. O’Rourke gave Texans who have long felt disenfranchised a glimpse of what could be, and I hope they don’t take his defeat as a sign that victory is beyond their grasp.

It wasn’t all for nothing: The enthusiasm for Mr. O’Rourke most likely helped less glamorous and less moneyed candidates win down the ballot. The youthful attorney Lizzie Pannill Fletcher beat the self-satisfied Republican Congressman John Culberson, who had represented West Houston since 2001. In North Dallas, the Democrat Colin Allred, a black former N.F.L. player and civil rights attorney, defeated the Republican Pete Sessions, who had held office for 22 years, was chairman of the House Rules Committee and had sworn vengeance on Obamacare. Maria Teresa Kumar, the president of Voto Latino, which mobilizes Latino voters, tonight said that her organizations saw a 500 percent increase in registration among young Latino voters in Texas, the state that previously had the lowest voter participation of all.

It’s also true that many of the same politicos who had been hanging crepe for Mr. O’Rourke for months now suggest that, for him, this is the beginning, not the end. Most likely he will run for the Senate again in 2020, this time against the Republican who decides to run for the seat John Cornyn is expected to vacate. Most Texans know that when you fall off a horse, the best thing to do is get right back on again.
*sips tea* Ummm no sweetie. This was a victory.

I am more curious to see what you are hiding. I want to investigate your life until we find something. What's good for the goose is good for the sauce..
