HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut's 2018 governor race is shaping up to be a nail biting photo-finish as Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski are virtually tied in the latest polls. Polls will be open until 8 p.m. tonight. The winner succeeds current Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who has been routinely ranked one of the most unpopular governors in the country.

Across Connecticut voters have been encountering long lines. Polls at many locations look like a presidential election year instead of a midterm. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton said turnout as of noon was 25% compared to 2010's 18.3% during the same timeframe. The 2010 election was the first midterm during President Barack Obama's tenure.
