Identity politics are everything, and we lose insomuch as we stupidly abstain from it while all the minority groups use it against us.

Nor is identity politics "bigotry". White Americans have self-interests and there is nothing wrong with voting for those interests. To do otherwise is to be a cuck.

If you have a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society, then you have identity politics. No way around that.

There is no shared self interest between myself and some one from San Fransisco based around our mutual white race.

WaPo is not afraid of helping America solve its unruly Negro problem. So brave.

Remember the bizarre ‘Blacks for Trump’ guy? Well, he’s back.
Symonette brushed aside his recent money problems on Monday but acknowledged, “Right now I don’t have cash.” For his treks to Trump rallies, he said he raises “a little money from my brothers" to travel. He says he has never taken a payment for being Trump’s friendliest African American face in the crowd.

HOW BIZARRE

Behold the out of control self-hate. I used to think Lawrence Lessig had some points but the TDS has consumed him totally. Sad.

If no one insists on pouring on the fuel on the identity politics bonfire time and again, how will anyone make money off the constant drama generated by identity politics? Have a heart and click a link with an outrageous story. :violin:
Identity plays a roll in politics, but I don't feel as though it is a huge moving factor for the majority of the electorate. Unless you believe the majority of the electorate are bigots that will vote solely based on gender, race or religion.

Well, I don't imagine the question of wether or not a transgender "woman" is really a woman or not, really matters alot to a majority of Democrat voters either. And yet, a loud, obnoxious, intolerant minority who assumed leadership positions are nevertheless listened to and shape how the Democrat party is moving forward (pun intended).

Similarly, I don't think most who voted Trump voted for him because he was "The White Man's Champion"..or some shit. But the ones who do want more race-based, gender-based or religious identity politics have the same option of taking over the Republican party. No matter what a majority of the electorate think.

Result is that neither the Democrat party nor the Republicans will really represent the average American. They might continue to vote Trump, for his stance on immigration and economic nationalism, things that benefit themselves personally. In short, identity politics don't have to agreed upon by a majority to become powerful and influential.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.
