Good luck finding ammo for imperial Japan era weapons. You either have to hand load casings which cost a mint or convert the gun to a more standard caliber. One thing japs had going for their guns is that you dont find anyone shooting them anywhere anymore or ever heh.
I think you can get ammo for their rifles, it was like 6.5 mm. But the pistols were weird, I think the used a shouldered cartridge. They also had a 'surrender' gun. It was a pistol that was designed with an additional trigger that allowed you to fire it, without your finger on the regular trigger, while appearing to surrender.

These design features facilitate rapid cycling and fire compared to other bolt-action designs like the Mauser.[5] The Lee bolt-action and 10-round magazine capacity enabled a well-trained rifleman to perform the "mad minute" firing 20 to 30 aimed rounds in 60 seconds, making the Lee–Enfield the fastest military bolt-action rifle of the day. The current world record for aimed bolt-action fire was set in 1914 by a musketry instructor in the British Army—Sergeant Instructor Snoxall—who placed 38 rounds into a 12-inch-wide (300 mm) target at 300 yards (270 m) in one minute.
:o

Elsewhere on Wiki it says 24'' wide target. Either way that is reloading 3 times and hitting 38 times in a minute. I wonder if he fired all 40 but missed 2.

I've always wanted an Enfield but the ammo is relatively scarce. I like everything about them including the aesthetics. Pawn shops frequently have them going for less than 1k. Has to be better than the mosin nagant. That is the exwife of bolt action rifles. Long barrel like your ex's memory. Hard to operate the action like your ex. Kicks like a mule etc

Makes a great spear or firewood log tho....

A lot of wood on the early models, looks great.
Standard rifle from 1895 to 1957 in the British Army.

They made a carbine scout model that is worth a fortune today. Rapid fire was done by using your middle finger to pull the trigger instead of your index finger.

I remember seeing the Indian police still using Lee Enfeilds during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Is that the one which was made for the Burma campaign and unofficially called the jungle carbine?

That's it. If I remember correctly a bunch of them ended up serving in Vietnam as well.
I'll try to find a video on em.
