Martin and other keep mentioning bots on this forum. I have some questions.

Why? This forum is miniscule. It is not a prominent social media website or anything, and there is not financial information available on it. Did some antifa cyber police take umbrage at some of the opinions on here? Is their goal to ddos or dox the forum members? Again, this is such a small place it really doesn't seem worth it. Martin wouldn't really be a good target for a cyber virtue signalling posse, because he is pretty upfront about his opinions and has already publicly run for office and published books stating them. Are these some kind of third world country spam bots? I'm legitimately puzzled. What do you folks make of these bots? Is Hwen finally taking his revenge for the abuse that Monte and DrYouth heaped on him?

Why and how are there bots on this website?

Martin has mentioned it at least a dozen times on the forum, but he has never explained exactly what is going on. He did mention that someone wrote him an email saying they were offended by the content here. My guess is they read one of Nukedog's threads

We always have bots, 100/day or so, but now we’re getting them in waves.

I mentioned before that my main Hash website links here, plus my personal entry page, which by the Google algorithm gives this site credibility. Bots want their own sites to be credible by the same algorithm, so if they can get on here they can link to their own sites. Plus, the Search Engines are constantly indexing this site. Just Google some of your own content and see it pop up.

It's because of me guys. It's ok. I know how to fight bots and have been doing it for years. Simply repeat this incantation:

Ok.. I know I'm going to hate this. And 10 seconds after I post it's going to be filled with memes of teen age girls. But here goes.

Hash, Inc. has always been working to stop bots/spam. I have always thought it was because of the hash name that causes this, but we is also old man problems too(not naming names haha).

The short version of the user count going up, the 'bot/spider' plug in was not counting. I have only seen a few of the 'hacked' emails but they seam to point here too, since it's one of the few places that you can sign up at martinhash.com but I do not have real data to back this up yet. but I'm looking into it.

I will follow this post, until you over run it with memes then you are on your own.
